The Pixiu, also known as the Imperial Guardian Lion, is a creature of Chinese mythology with the head of a dragon and the body of a lion, an allegory for fortune, happiness and wealth. A male and female pair of Pixiu guard the entrance to the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the Forbidden City. This 2020-P Double Pixiu bullion coin is struck from 1 Troy oz. of .9999 fine silver, its mintage limited to 50,000.
Gorgeous design:
Two imperial lions are depicted on the reverse, seated upon a mound of ancient Chinese cash coins. The male on the left grasps an embroidered sphere, symbolizing supremacy over the world; on the right, the female holds a lion cub, representing protection against evil spirits
The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by Jody Clark of The Royal Mint.
